The following information is provided for sponsors of continuing education and training programs who want their programs accredited with NFI Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Below are the policies and procedures for getting your programs accredited with CEUs, and instructions on how to ensure that your students earn their CEUs by attending your program.

Q: I have participants who will be taking their NFI exam in the next day or so. Will they be eligible to earn CEUs?

Q: Can instructors earn CEUs for teaching courses?

A: Instructors may receive credit for:

  1. Teaching an NFI Review Course. Instructors may earn five (5) CEUs for teaching a full-day NFI review course once in their three year certification validation period. Instructors may earn (5) CEUs each for gas, woodburning and pellet.
  2. Teaching any program approved with NFI CEUs. Instructors may receive credit only once for teaching the course within their three year certification period.
